Biography

Fred Sulvaskey, also printed Sulvasky and identified in the report as Frank Sylvester, was a thirty-eight-year-old Russian miner residing at Black Oak. A June 16 Bridgeport report quotes the Wheeling Register of June 15 on Sheriff Duff’s announcement of his arrest as an alleged undercover coal-strike organizer. The Daily Worker disputed the sheriff’s claim that this had damaged strike organization and treated the arrest as intimidation. No statutory count, precise arrest day, sentence or custody length is established. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1930/v07-n148-NY-jun-20-1930-DW-LOC.pdf#page=3
