Black prisoner held two and a half years in the Marion federal penitentiary's behavior-modification unit, taken to St. Louis in Sept. 1975 to be arraigned on charges of assaulting four guards; The Black Panther Vol. 14 no.3 (1975) reports supporters called it a frame-up, since the handcuffed prisoner could not have assaulted four guards.
A letter published in October 1975 said Gaskins had already spent two and a half years resisting behavior modification at Marion and was taken to St. Louis for arraignment on September 15, 1975. It disputed an allegation that he assaulted four guards on June 6 while handcuffed. The two-and-a-half-year figure described confinement still continuing at the time of the letter; the original intake and eventual release were not given.
