Biography
Frank Cedervall was an Industrial Workers of the World organizer arrested in Lorain, Ohio, on February 11, 1936 shortly before a meeting to organize workers at the Dangler Division of the American Stove Company. A contemporary Daily Worker report states that he, fellow organizer Carl Keller, and four other IWW members were held in jail for forty-eight hours and expelled from the city. Their attorney Morris H. Wolf announced plans to sue local officials for false arrest.
In its Cleveland National Screw strike account, the book describes a separate arrest of Cedervall on an accusation of threatening the company-union secretary. Attorney Wolfe obtained separation of prosecution witnesses, whose cross-examination accounts conflicted, and the jury acquitted Cedervall. This is distinct from the already documented February 1936 Lorain detention. No precise arrest date, personal physical discharge or actual custody total is supplied.
