Biography
Frank B. Hamilton, Socialist mayor of Piqua, Ohio, was arrested ten days before an election with five other Socialists. The January 1919 Liberator reports the defendants still held under $10,000 bond awaiting trial over alleged obstruction of the Liberty Loan. It attributes the charge to statements by political opponents’ paid spies. The issue does not independently fix an exact arrest day or complete detention.
