Biography
Frances Moore, union organizer in the Rosenau shirt-factory strike at Red Hill, was held in Montgomery County jail after picket arrests for illegal assemblage on the sidewalk. A September 6, 1933 dispatch says seventeen pickets had served three hours and were released after fines were paid, but Moore refused to leave and announced she would serve the ten-day sentence and fast in protest. The article does not establish her eventual discharge, a completed ten-day term or a measured hunger-strike duration.
