Biography
Felice Cohen-Joppa, born June 26, 1959, co-founded The Nuclear Resister with Jack Cohen-Joppa in 1980 and has spent decades documenting arrests and supporting imprisoned anti-nuclear and anti-war activists. Tucson police arrested her and five others at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base on March 1, 1998; the court imposed probation and community service rather than jail. Washington police arrested her again at the Israeli Embassy on September 28, 2000 during a protest marking Mordechai Vanunu’s imprisonment. She was held overnight and released the following day.
The July 2013 Ground Zero newsletter individually names Felice Cohen-Joppa among the fourteen people arrested on the federal side of Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor during the Pacific Life Community action on March 4, 2013. The report does not establish a complete jail interval or an eventual prison sentence. Source: https://www.gzcenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/July-13-newsletter-for-website.pdf#page=7
Custody record
Contemporary Nuclear Resister reporting names Cohen-Joppa among the August 16, 2010 Kansas City bomb-plant blockaders arrested. The trial follow-up reports fines or probation rather than jail sentences; her actual processing duration remains unresolved.
Separate March 4, 2018 brief Nevada detention and same-day release
The April 2018 Ground Zero newsletter, original page 6, individually names Felice Cohen-Joppa among twenty-four Pacific Life Community participants arrested at the Nevada National Security Site on March 4, 2018. Felice Cohen-Joppa’s report says the participants crossed the site boundary, were escorted to a nearby pen, briefly held, processed and released. This is a same-day temporary detention and release, not an overnight prison stay, a served-day sentence, or continuous custody beginning that day. No imprisonment counter or new discrete prison episode is added, and other case dates remain unchanged.
