Biography
Faouzi Jaber, an Ivorian national, was arrested in Prague on April 5, 2014 in a DEA operation involving informants posing as FARC representatives. He was extradited to the United States in April 2016, pleaded guilty in July 2017 to conspiring to provide material support to the FARC, and received a 180-month federal prison sentence in February 2018.
Chronology review October 13, 2026: The July 2017 DOJ plea announcement places the Prague arrest on April 5, 2014. The June 11, 2025 district-court opinion in Jaber v. Hanley records April 5, 2016 extradition and sentencing in February 2018. The former April 2017 arrest/admission entries were erroneous. Sentencing is stored at month precision; the first day of the month is only a storage placeholder. An initial prison-admission date and actual release remain unresolved, and no exact duration is inferred.
