Biography

Evelyn Roth was a speaker for the Trade Union Unity League at McKeesport on September 1, 1930. The Daily Worker of September 8, page 2, in a Pittsburgh dispatch dated September 7, reports police breaking up a demonstration of 3,000 people and arresting Chandler, Roth and Mikades. Each received a $50 fine or fifty days in jail. The source does not say whether this defendant paid the fine or actually served the alternative jail term and gives no physical discharge date.
