Biography
Eugene Burruss was taken into police custody in New Haven on November 11, 1969 after questioning the arrest and beating of his sister Regina during a confrontation over posters for the Black Panther Party’s Free Breakfast Program. A first-person account signed Elise in the December 6 Black Panther says police threw him into a truck. This contemporary account supports actual police custody during the protest, but gives no charge, station or jail transfer, duration, release date or final disposition.
