Biography

The PIP leader testified in 1958 that soldiers arrested him at El Gran Café after a party meeting in Aguadilla and confined him in Arecibo district jail for five days. He was released in a weapons prosecution concerning a kitchen knife allegedly found in a car; the account reports acquittal after evidence that agents planted the knife. A broader passage elsewhere in the thesis implies longer group detention, so no exact endpoints or combined duration are entered.
