Biography

Edgar Greene was named in the detailed Canonsburg coal-strike trial roster concerning the July19,1931 confrontation. The page1 bulletin and detailed trial roster disagree: the bulletin lists MaryRasefski,StanleyBarko,MikeSkwarlo,MikeSholtz and BessieKowlenski, while the detailed account lists StellaRasefske,EdgarGreene,HenryStark,WillMcQueen,JuliusHollis and LouisFazzio. No unsupported individual conviction is inferred from this conflict. The report establishes prosecution but does not give a complete personal custody interval. The August 28, 1931 Daily Worker reports the Canonsburg defendant Greene denying that he tore down a flag at Curry Field. His account placed him selling tickets at a National Miners Union picnic in Wolfdale throughout the day, while prosecution witnesses disagreed over which defendant allegedly took the flag. The detailed August 29 roster supplies the fuller name Edgar Greene. This records defense testimony within the existing prosecution and does not resolve the conflicting verdict rosters or establish custody endpoints.
