Biography

Earle L. Reynolds was an anthropologist who had studied radiation effects at Hiroshima before sailing his yacht Phoenix, with his family aboard, 65 miles into the Atomic Energy Commission's restricted Pacific test zone in 1958 — taking up the protest where the Golden Rule had been stopped. He was convicted in Honolulu of violating the AEC ban and sentenced to six months and probation.
