Doris Jean Castle was a New Orleans native and CORE activist who rode from Montgomery to Jackson on May 24, 1961 and was arrested on May 25, 1961. She was eighteen at the time, giving a birth year of about 1943; she died in 1997. The Civil Rights Digital Library identifies her individual Freedom Rider mugshot but does not give her sentence, any Parchman admission date, or her release, so those fields are unresolved.
