Biography
Daniel King was identified as a sixteen-year-old Black student in testimony reproduced in the defense appeal for Huey P. Newton. The excerpt says Officer Frey held him while a white man struck him, used a racial insult and took him to juvenile authorities. The defense presented this account as evidence of racial police abuse. The newspaper cites the trial record but supplies no arrest day, statutory count, release endpoint or complete custody duration. The allegations are attributed to the defense rather than presented as adjudicated findings.
