Biography

Daniel J. McIntosh organized the Cape Cod Cranberry Pickers Union during the September 1933 cranberry strike. Jamieson reports that Judge Washburn of Wareham sentenced both organizers to sixty days in Plymouth County jail for obtaining signatures and money under false pretenses after they collected initiation fees while an American Federation of Labor charter was still pending. They were released when the charter arrived. Sixty days was the imposed term; their actual confinement duration and exact endpoints are not established.
