Biography

Daniel Black, a war veteran and Workers’ Ex-Servicemen’s League member attending Paul Crouch’s Price hearing, was abducted from the courthouse steps. The October 8 report says he was tied to a tree, beaten unconscious with a broken ankle and injured jaw, and abandoned in the desert. He regained consciousness, reached a road and was found by strikers; under medical care in Helper, he identified alleged attackers as city relief officials Gibson and Howard.
