Biography
One of five antifascists arrested fleeing the May 19, 2012 raid on a white nationalist "Economic Summit" at the Ashford House restaurant in Tinley Park, Illinois, where roughly 18 black-clad assailants attacked attendees with hammers and bats. Pleaded guilty in Cook County Circuit Court in January 2013 to armed violence and mob action and was sentenced to 5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. The Tinley Park Five became one of the largest antifa prisoner-support campaigns of the decade.
Release month verified October 12, 2026: Fire to the Prisons issue 12, PDF page 9 (printed page 8) contains NYC ABC’s 2014 retrospective explicitly recording Cody Sutherlin’s June release. The original page was downloaded and visually inspected. The July 1, 2014 Ex-Worker episode independently reports his release had occurred. June 2014 replaces the year-only placeholder; no day is inferred from an earlier fundraising projection.
