Biography
Chuck Matthei was a New England CNVA participant jailed during the June 1967 Hartford vigil for John Stephens.
Separate Pentagon detention reported in 1967
The June 19, 1967 CNVA newsletter names Chuck Matthei, Suzi Williams, Lou Waronker and Peter Kiger as four people held in Washington, D.C. after a Pentagon protest. It reports that charges were ultimately dropped after approximately two weeks in jail, but does not supply their individual admission or discharge days. This is distinct from the separately dated June 3–5 Hartford vigil detention. The thirty-day suspended sentences and six-month probation mentioned for other defendants are not assigned to these four.
