Biography

Charles Salonius was a Greek fur worker arrested on Saturday afternoon, June 11, 1927, on a felonious-assault charge. The June 14 Daily Worker expressly reports that Magistrate Jesse Silverman held him without bail at Jefferson Market Court. It alleges that complainant Thomas Krigis, also called Charpas, had attacked Salonius and other workers in a restaurant. That account is attributed to the newspaper, not treated as a judicial finding. His release and complete custody duration remain unknown.
