Biography
Charles Ellis was a Detroit worker arrested during the police raids that followed the Ford Hunger March massacre of March 7, 1932. He went to Receiving Hospital to visit his wounded roommate, Thomas Jones. Police arrested him there, searched his room without a warrant, and cited the Communist literature they found as a reason for holding him.
