Biography

Charles Bailey was one of seven people arrested during the Kiamensi Woolen repair workers’ strike at Wilmington, Delaware, reported in the May 13, 1925 Daily Worker. The article individually lists the seven and says all except Charles Brooks and John Miller were found guilty by Magistrate Tinsman of inciting to riot. The five were actually sent to the New Castle County Workhouse for thirty days in default of a $20 fine each and costs. Thirty days was the imposed term, not a verified completed period. Neither a precise commitment day nor physical release is supplied. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1925/1925-ny/v02b-n103-NYE-may-13-1925-DW-LOC.pdf#page=2
