Biography

Casey Robert Goonan is a Bay Area Palestine-solidarity activist convicted in a federal prosecution arising from four June 2024 fire attacks at the University of California, Berkeley and an attempted firebombing at the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building in Oakland. Federal agents arrested Goonan on June 17, 2024. Goonan pleaded guilty in April 2025 to maliciously damaging federal property by fire. On September 23, 2025, U.S. District Judge Jeffrey S. White sentenced Goonan to 235 months in federal prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release, and ordered $94,267.51 in restitution.
