Biography

Carl Struve was named as one of the last two deportees in the Portland Communist-repression cases of 1930–31. The November 16 Portland dispatch says Carl Struve and Englebert Nilson left on an October 30 train, and that police informer M. R. Bacon left on the same train. It distinguishes deportation proceedings from the criminal-syndicalism cases dismissed on November 16. The report does not provide the individual arrest or jail admission, destination, physical border-crossing date, conviction or actual duration. Departure by train is not treated as a verified completed overseas removal date. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1931/v08-n276-NY-nov-17-1931-DW-LOC.pdf#page=1
