Biography

Brian Flagg was identified by the National No-Nukes Prison Support Collective as one of two Sacramento Catholic Worker hospitality-house participants serving five-day jail terms for a Hiroshima Day civil-disobedience action at Mather Air Force Base near Sacramento. The contemporary item, published January 17, 1982, confirms actual service but does not print the action year, initial admission, actual release or precise statutory charge. No August 6 date is inferred from the action’s name.

Source and evidence limits

National No-Nukes Prison Support Collective newsletter No. 10, January 17, 1982, original page 5.

Actual physical imprisonment is explicitly reported, not merely arrest or a future sentence. The publication date is not an intake date. All individual custody endpoints and exact served counters remain unknown. No birth date, race, ethnicity or unsupported alias is inferred.

A separate brief September 1983 Tucson detention

The Tucson Peace Camp article names Brian Flagg, Karen Raymond and Rhea Miller as arrested September 3, 1983 after refusing an Air Force order to leave federal land. Marshals took them to the Tucson federal courthouse for photographs and fingerprints, and the report says they were then released on their own recognizance. This describes brief processing and release, not an overnight prison stay or a full day served. Their October 13 trial was still future. This event is separate from Flagg’s earlier Mather imprisonment; no new prison counter is added.
