Biography

AWP member and Ohio Unemployed League educational director, reported actually held in Columbus Work House for two weeks when A. J. Muste visited him. The paper attributes his conviction to a police frame-up during anti-eviction struggles. Thirty days, a $25 fine and over $100 costs were imposed; bail pending appeal was delayed by legal technicalities. Page 6 reports Ohio faculty contributing to his defense. The reported two weeks is a contemporaneous custody stage, not a complete lifetime total, and the hoped-for bail release is prospective.
