Biography
Bernard Shipman (printed alias Iron Mike) is individually named in the March 1973 Attica News roster of Attica uprising prisoner defendants. The roster links the person to indictment 5, covering 34 first-degree kidnapping counts. The defense newspaper places these prosecutions in the political reprisals after the September 1971 prison uprising. This establishes the Attica-prisoner context; it does not identify the original conviction, precise first admission, final judgment, physical discharge or complete custody duration. The table maximum-sentence figures are statutory exposure, not imposed terms or years actually served.
