Biography
Arthur “Meshach” Davis was a Chicago Black Panther activist imprisoned in Illinois under inmate number C60520. A contemporary appeal reported that authorities took him from Atlanta on November 1, 1975 and returned him to Chicago on an armed-robbery accusation dating to January 1970. He received a ten-year sentence and was held at Pontiac. His supporters alleged that excessive bond and restrictions on obtaining counsel and preparing his defense denied him a fair trial. His actual discharge date remains unverified.
