Biography

Abner Green’s October 1936 account identifies Tony (Antonio) Boni as arrested and searched by Detroit police in 1933 after distributing handbills advertising a Detroit Unemployment Council mass meeting. Attorney Max Barshal questioned patrolman Leffard Huntley about the absence of a warrant; Green quotes Huntley as saying police did not need one and describes him as a specialist in Communism. The report establishes actual arrest in a political-leafleting context, but no precise day, statutory count, physical discharge or completed duration.
