Biography
Antoinette F. Konikow was a physician and birth-control lecturer. In her February 1, 1941 Militant article she explicitly recalled being arrested for birth-control lectures under obscenity restrictions; that passage gives no individual date or disposition. Historian Linda Gordon dates the arrest to February 9, 1928 and reports her acquittal after a defense that her contraceptive demonstrations illustrated a scientific lecture and warned against health injuries. This later historical study supplies the date and outcome; no exact jail-admission or physical-discharge date or complete custody duration is established.
