Biography
Poet, co-founder with Allen Ginsberg of the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa, was active in the Rocky Flats Truth Force from 1978-1979. Arrested with Ginsberg and Daniel Ellsberg at sitting-meditation actions at Rocky Flats in June 1978. Formerly directed the Poetry Project at St. Mark's in New York (1968-1978).
The October 1978 Poetry Project newsletter identifies Waldman and Peter Orlovsky as facing a January trial in the Rocky Flats Truth Force campaign. It also lists her among the poets who read on the tracks on August 5. The reading is not by itself an arrest, and the planned January trial does not establish a completed verdict or custody endpoint.
