Biography

Alberta Parker was an Illinois Workers Alliance member and co-defendant in the Cairo relief-demonstration prosecution described in Ed Parker's signed jail account in the Socialist Call, June 26, 1937, page 8. Parker names Kelly, Horn, Jones and Alberta Parker as important witnesses who were themselves indicted on the same counts except arson. He says they had been jailed and released on condition of leaving town and were willing to return to testify. This establishes a separate individual prosecution and conditional release; it does not assign them Parker's $4,500 bond, May 24 re-arrest, exact jail dates or eventual trial outcome.
