The July 22 issue reports arrest at the Friday July 19, 1929 demonstration outside the Nanking consulate, 13 Astor Place, New York, opposing action against the Soviet Union. The case was heard by Magistrate Hyman Bushel with ILD attorney Jacques Buitenkant defending. The explicit final page 5 list identifies him among seven who served two days after refusing fines; an earlier page 5 list abbreviates Chorover. The issue contains inconsistent counts and disposition lists across pages 1 and 5; those conflicts are preserved without manufacturing a final discharge date or full original custody total.
