Rodríguez was detained while traveling in a vehicle bearing her outlet’s branding. Her reporting includes immigration enforcement in the Nashville area.
Amnesty said she had entered the United States legally and was seeking asylum after threats connected to her reporting in Colombia. Her lawyers challenged the arrest and detention in federal court.
NPPC opposes retaliation against journalists for their reporting and supports her access to counsel and a fair hearing.
Update: Rodríguez was released on bond on March 19, 2026, according to her attorneys. Her immigration case continued after release.
